I was going through some old vinyl yesterday and came across Joe
Cocker's "Mad Dogs & Englishmen" double concert/movie soundtrack LP.
The first song on side one is "Honky Tonk Women" but the lyrics sound
completely different from the Rolling Stones classic single. Are there
two different songs with the same title, or did Leon Russell simply
rearrange it into something I'm not recognizing?

The Stones themselves did an alternate version called "Country Honk".

Theres also an unreleased Stones version with a Keith vocal, with different
lyrics.

So was that the tune Joe Cocker did?

And, to make the matters (or Works Vol. II, for these matters) even
worse, Emerson Lake and Palmer also came up with a "Honky Tonk Woman"
circa 1977.

You're thinking of "Honky Tonk Train Blues", an old Meade-Lux Lewis
instrumental jazz composition that was around LONG before the Stones
hit of a slightly similar title. The ELP cut was an entirely different
song.

Aaaaaaaaargh, how come they yet gave me a C++ when I took ELP 101 in
junior high?
I stand corrcted, my apologies, thank you very much indeed, Sir!
