In the recording "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" by Crosby, Stills &
Nash -
At the end of the track there are some words which sound
like raucous Spanish... I'm trying to decide what they say.
Looking it up on the net, we are usually told they say
something like,
Que linda me la traiga Cuba,
La reina de la Mar Caribe.
Cielo sol no tiene sangre all=ED,
Y que triste que no puedo vaya,
I'm not satisfied with this, and I don't see that they were
given by the artists; these are words that people have just
more or less tried to guess.
Three problems:
1) this doesn't make a lot of sense
2) it's really bad Spanish
3) it's not what I hear on the track
What I hear is more like this:
Que linda ... vaya pa' Cuba
La reina de la mar Caribe
Quiero solo a visitarme all=ED
Y que ti ...
Can anyone help with the missing parts?

(I dont speak spanish, and i have no idea what the last dude was saying)
Borrowed from the web:
As far as I can understand them, these are the words:
Que linda me triaga Cuba
La reina de la mar Caribe
Cielo sol no tiene sangre alli
y que triste (o lastima) que no puedo va ya.
Which sounds like this:
Kay Linda mey try-aga Kooba
La rey-een-a day la mar Car-ee-bey
See-ay-lo sole no tee-en-ay san-grey ay-yee
ee kay tree-stay (last-ee-ma) kay no poo-ey-do vahy-ya
Which means:
How I love to go to Cuba,
the crown of the Caribean.
The sky has no blood,
And how sad it is that I cannot go there.

I think a better translation of the first two lines would be:
What beauty Cuba has brought me,
The queen of the Caribbean.
The other two lines seem to be about right. Of course, all of this is
assuming that the transcription of what Stills is singing is accurate.

Or, perhaps this is right (also borrowed from the web)
Que linda me la traiga Cuba,
la reina de la Mar Caribe.
Cielo sol no tiene sangreahi,
y que triste que no puedo vaya,
Oh va, oh va, va.
Loosely translated that is:
How happy it makes me to think of Cuba,
the smiles of the Caribbean Sea,
Sunny sky has no blood, and how sad that
I'm not able to go
Oh go, oh go go
Or this one
Que alegria me traiga Cuba
La reina de la Mar Caribe
Que cielo sol que lo tengan alli
Y que triste que no puedo vaya
Oh va, oh va, va.

OK, thanks for the tip and the translation. My question came up because I
didn't know whether this was already a song, a piece of poetry that dickydoo
was translating, or if it was something he was trying to do, a composition
of his own. It was clear there was something wrong somewhere, whatever the
reason.
Thanks a bunch.

It was a link to a web site not mine.

What joy Cuba brings to me,
The Queen of the Caribbean Sea.
What sunny skies they have there,
And how sad it is that I cannot go.
Oh go, oh go, go.
