mhambster...
On their "Leaving Friday Harbour" album, the Scottish group
"Battlefield Band" recorded a track named "One More Chorus".

Does anyone have the lyrics to this song, or can you tell me how/where
to find them?

TakenEvent...
I got bored. Hope this helps.

Jotters: To be fired, dismissed, sent off.
"Ah gave him his jotters because he was a eejit"

Boozer (n): pub

There's a chance that "dronn" means "back", but "dronn" might not be the
correct word, and "dronn" might mean "rump" or even "hump" or "camber".
Perhaps some Irish or Scottish reader can correct my transcription.

One More Chorus

Joe the barman's cleared the boozer
He's made everybody leave
Just the band left in the corner
So Joe rolls up his sleeve

He's counting out our money
Sayin' "It's time to leave I think."
We said, "Nevermind the money Joe,

I agree.

What about "dronn", though? Any thoughts? I couldn't figure that one to my
satisfaction.

We'll take a wee gin drink."

And give us one more chorus
And one more song
One more tune, and then we'll be gone
It's early in the morning
We'll be leaving soon and so
Give us one more song, then we'll go

Soon the tunes were fairly beltin' out
And songs were sung as well
But this was Joe's first day at work
He was in barman hell
He says, "I'll get my jotters

It's 'Tron'. There's a Tron Bar in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. And the tune
they play, after mentioning 'The Mason's Apron' is indeed just that, 'The
Mason's Apron'.

Not sure about that line about, "...the factory outwhistles...." - it
doesn't sound right to my Scots ear, but I can't figure out what it should
be.... For one thing, if they're within staggering distance of the Tron,
they'll be in the city centre and there wouldn't be any factories nearby. I
think the word, "whistles," goes along with the other instruments, so it's,
"da da da da da whistles, fiddles, keyboards and guitar..."

TakenEvent...
"Let's all head for the Tron" makes sense then.

The other line you mentioned actually sounds like "The bactery
outwhistles..." so perhaps "factory" is wrong. I am positive it isn't "da
da da da da".

Did you listen to the song? If not, there's a link to the .mp3 here:

Please listen to it and report back. Any corrections you might have will be
welcome.

And you'll be barred for life"
But the fiddler was the landlord
And the banjo player's his wife

So give us one more chorus
And one more song
One more tune, and then we'll be gone
It's early in the morning
We'll be leaving soon and so
Give us one more song, then we'll go

Next thing, the doors flew open, 'tis an ill wind that blows,
For there stood two policemen, and everybody froze.
Well, they marched up to our table, all menacin' and slow,
Saying, play "The Mason's Apron," that's the only tune we know!

The sun steamed? through the windows
And it sparkled off the bar
The factory outwhistles fiddles, keyboards, and guitars

quester...
But:

The sun streamed through the windows
And it sparkled off the bar
We packed away our whistles, fiddles, keyboards and guitars

Aargh! That is so obvious when you see it, isn't it? It was all this talk of
factories that made me hear it wrong, I guess.

We moved out to the busy street
Our headaches comin' on
Then the piper said, "It's openin' time
Let's all head for the [dronn]"

And give us one more chorus
And one more song
One more tune, and then we'll be gone
It's early in the morning
We'll be leaving soon and so
Give us one more song, then we'll go

et cetera

According to the following web page, the lyrics are included with the album.

But to me, it's not a foreign accent - it's my native language, so I really
should have picked it up at once. As for "steamed/streamed" I didn't

There's no such word as, "outwhistles," though. The whistles are part of the
list of instruments, surely? It's something to do with the morning sunshine
coming into the pub and making the musicians realise it's time to stop
playing and head outside...

TakenEvent...
Sure there is. I assumed it referred to the horn some factories (used to?)
blow to signify the start of the morning shift. I figured they heard it
over their instruments. That is not to say that's what the singer is
singing, but that's what it sounded like to me at first. "Factory" was an
approximation, meaning it didn't really sound like "factory", but it didn't
really sound like anything else, either.

You know, I know an awful lot of songs like this, where some of the lyrics
are just that little bit garbled. You have this gut feeling there's
something wrong, but you can't figure out anything better so you just sing
them the way you've got them and hope nobody notices. It's nice to have a
place like this where we can all put our heads together and come up with the
correct words, for once!

a l l y...
Yes I listened - that's how I knew it was the Tron and the Mason's Apron!
(Reminds me of many real sessions I've played at in the days of my misspent
youth, but that's another story....) I guess the easiest way of getting the
definitive answer would be for someone - the OP, probably - to email the
band, whose contact details are on their website here -
here, if you do!

Here's a link to an .mp3 of the song - most of the lyrics are intelligible.

web-search came up with the following snippet:

Next thing, the doors flew open, 'tis an ill wind that blows,
For there stood two policemen, and everybody froze.
Well, they marched up to our table, all menacin' and slow,
Saying, Play "The Mason's Apron," that's the only tune we know!
