Actor John Cusack, star of such offbeat films as Grosse Point Blank and
Being John Malkovich, obtained a restraining order today against a woman he
claims has been stalking him.

The order, which was signed by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge, requires
31-year-old Emily Diane Leatherman to stay at least 150 metres from Cusack,
40, as well as the actor's home, workplace, car and offices.

"This person is showing unusual interest by stalking, throwing long letters
of interest over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside (and)
making unannounced visits to offices of people I work with in an attempt to
meet with me," Cusack said in his restraining order application.

I said it in another thread and I'll say it again: this is coming from
a guy who stood outside a girl's window and held a boombox over his
head...

Perhaps if you illustrated it with an image, people would finally give your
observation the merit it so richly deserves?

Kris Baker...
Like "It's only a movie, he really doesn't do that in real life"?

He said Leatherman "threatens to commit acts of violence against herself if
I do not help her" and that her mail has been arriving at his home.

Representatives for Cusack, who appeared alongside Molly Ringwald and
Anthony Michael Hall in the iconic 1980s film Sixteen Candles, and later
that decade starred in Say Anything, declined to comment.
