Why is Radiohead so hugely successful? A lot of their albums sell
millions of copies. It seems to be moaning artrock plus some ambient
songs. What's the appeal?

Coldplay for that matter....

They manage to sell all those CDs with limited radio and NO MTV exposure.

Nah. They have just managed to keep evolving their sound and actively try to
be different. It works for them, just like it works for The Flaming Lips.
Plus, they are excellent musicians. Jonny Greenwood's talent as a
multi-instrumentalist is undeniable. Thom Yorke is kinda creepy though.

Do they have anything new coming out? It's been three years since their
last CD.

Their postings to their official website indicate they're in the studio.
They've been in the studio for a while now. Not at long as Axl Rose, but a
year now or so.
