Why is Nicole Kidman supposed to be beautiful?

Why do they keep insisting we believe that when our own eyes tell us
otherwise? She has a forehead like a refrigerator door, hair as thin
and lank as corn tassle and a body that was pulled through a sieve. I
don't get it.

Not to mention that "look" she does... like she's a zombie coming up
out of the broom closet.

I think Nicole Kidman has beautiful eyes and lovely hair,
never seen her hair look "thin and lank", it always looks
great. Very nice skin too.

Kidman fulfills the social norms for elegant and attractive middle age
white woman.
Slender to a fault, she wears designer clothes with great flair yet
manages to look equally
comfortable and fashionable in skirt and t-shirt. Her pallor is
perfect for filming with that blue undertone to her skin, most
noticable in Moulin Rouge. The eyebrow arch is a nervous tick I think,
it's always been there esp. in public situtions when she feels more
exposed, thus, her days as Mrs. Cruise were always arch brow occasions
if you review her red carpet arrivals. I think her face is just lovely
and has aged well with the loss of her puppy fat days and chipmunk
cheeks, however, she is not as much a risk taker in her films today as
when she did Story of a Lady with John Malkovich. Her work with Cruise
is pretty much snoozeable work as he hogged the screen and she just
played scenes with him, fairly forgettable. But, once she had to go it
on her own, her acting kicked up a notch plus with both gutsy
performances outside her comfort zone, such as Moulin Rouge, The Hours,
and Birth. I'd like to see Kidman work with Woody Allen and do a
smaller budget kind of film again, such as the work she did in the
past, but I'm thinking Ms. Kidman will slack off to become a haus frau
and retire to her Nashville digs to play wifey till boredom and her
husband goes off on his own. When she needs to work again, she'll
likely be too old, such as Michelle Pffifer is now finding herself.

Because she's flinty. Flinty=rich WASP. Rich WASP=beautiful. What's
not to love about a refrigerator door and a sieve? Boo-tee-li-cious.
