It is only a month since Gillian Anderson divorced her second husband.

But she has already found new love, with the most unlikely of suitors.

The Bafta-nominated actress, 37, has started dating the wealthy
director of a wheelclamping firm.

The man in question, 34-year-old Mark Griffiths, lived near the home
Miss Anderson shared with her husband Julian Ozanne in Notting Hill,
West London.

The pair became friends around the time of the breakdown of the
actress's marriage.

Two weeks ago, Miss Anderson and Mr Griffiths moved into a new
=A33million home the actress bought in fashionable Holland Park.

They spent two days lugging furniture and fine art paintings into the
house. Pictures of the couple unloading shopping showed Miss Anderson's
12-year-old daughter Piper has also taken a shine to Mr Griffiths.

The pair then left Piper with her nanny Kimberley and were driven to
Heathrow airport to fly away for a romantic week-long break in
California.

At Heathrow, the pair were adamant that they would not be photographed
together.

Miss Anderson strutted purposefully into the terminal with her arms
crossed and head down, leaving Mr Griffiths with their suitcases.

He is far removed from the string of glamorous suitors Miss Anderson
has enjoyed romances with in the past. Her first husband Clyde Klotz
was an art director working in the film industry, while Mr Ozanne was a
film producer and former newspaper foreign correspondent.

Mr Griffiths spends his weekdays masterminding one of the country's
most profitable private wheel-clamping firms.

It is based in an office above an ice cream manufacturer in a grubby
backlot at the Gateway trading estate in Harlesden, North London.

He is a director of MET Parking Services with his 27-year-old brother
Graham.

The firm is responsible for enforcing parking regulations by clamping,
towing and fining drivers at numerous sites around the UK.

Early signs are that the relationship is going well. But Miss Anderson
has had a che-quered

love-life. She broke up with Mr Ozanne shortly after an alcohol-fuelled
outburst on a flight from Sri Lanka to London in January. She allegedly
shouted at passengers.

The actress left her first husband Mr Klotz in 1996 after two years,
saying: 'I've outgrown him. He bores me.'

Miss Anderson, who is American but was brought up in England, played
FBI agent Dana Scully alongside David Duchovny as Fox Mulder in the
sci-fi series The X-Files from 1993 to 2000.

Shortly after leaving the show she moved to London where she has lived
since.

This year she received a Bafta Best Actress nomination for her
portrayal of Lady Dedlock in the BBC's acclaimed adaptation of Charles
Dickens's Bleak House.
