Crowe Warns Photographers: 'Stay Away From My Wife'

Russell Crowe has promised to "tar and feather" any photographer who hassles
his pregnant wife, Danielle Spencer.

The blonde singer/actress is set to give birth to a brother or sister for
the couple's 2-year-old son, Charlie, in July.

The Oscar winner has sent out a warning to photographers, because he
believes paparazzi contributed to the premature birth of their son Charlie.

He says, "Dani was three weeks early last time, she gave birth just a few
days after she was chased down the street by four photographers.

"Nobody cares, particularly the photographers, nobody cares to focus on what
that is. She was just walking down the street with her girlfriend and they
rushed her -- four of them all surrounded her. So she panicked and slipped
and all this sort of stuff. If I'd been there that would have been a really
serious situation.

"I tell you right now, they will be tarred and feathered if they hassle my
pregnant wife again."

Learned a lot about boxing, too! I like it that he's all protective
of his family. He's good with kids, btw, I've seen it. Not
necessarily what you'd expect from Mr. rough 'round the edges.

Russ isn't that rough around the edges - he's just Australian.
Australians do not have the distaste for physical aggression that the
Americans do. Quite reasonable, well educated and sophisticated people
can be heard talking about the fact that someone is in "need of a good
punch in the face". Most of these talkers wouldn't actually have the
guts to *do* it, but they also wouldn't necessarily look down on someone
else who did. The photographers would know that Russ's threat is real,
and they would also know that they would get very little sympathy from
the Australian media or public if Russ DID punch them for hassling his
pregnant wife.
