George Lopez BUYS... er, "treats" himself to the 2,306th star on The
Hollywood Walk Of Fame for his many years in stand-up comedy and also
creating a pretty mediocre long-running sitcom that just copies

'Roseanne' with its "aren't we down to Earth?" sarcasm and on-going soap
(plot) element and 'The Golden Girls' (George's IDIOTIC old bag
mother!), but in the unsuccessful way. Way, go George! *thumbs up* Some
celebs buy babies (*cough-cough* Rosie O'Donnell, Diane Keaton, etc.),
some buy stars (freakin' Pink?!) and some buy both. To each their own, I
guess.

HOLLYWOOD - Comedian George Lopez will receive the 2,306th star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame today, the same day the 100th episode of his ABC
comedy "George Lopez" is aired.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Lopez and his wife, Ann, are scheduled to
speak at the morning ceremony next to the Kodak Theatre on Hollywood
Boulevard, near the star of Lopez's friend, Sandra Bullock, who like
Lopez, is one of the executive producers of his ABC series.

Born April 23, 1961 in Mission Hills, Lopez was a standup comic before
becoming only the fourth Latino to head a television comedy, following
Desi Arnaz ("I Love Lucy"); Freddie Prinze ("Chico and the Man") and

Paul Rodriguez ("AKA Pablo").

Lopez also starred in the 2005 film "The Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava
Girl" and the 2004 made-for-television movie, "Naughty or Nice."

Lopez received a Grammy nomination in 2004 for best comedy album for

"Team Leader."

Lopez, who suffers from a genetic defect which causes his kidneys to
malfunction, received a kidney from his wife last April.

Today's ceremony is the second of two on consecutive days. The record-
setting disbanded R&B group Destiny's Child received a star yesterday.
