Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta Jones has made a New Year's resolution to give
up smoking - because she's scared of the impact her habit will have on her
kids.
The Welsh beauty, 36, is concerned because her two children Dylan, five, and

And the continuous secondhand smoke has a severe impact on the
children. Secondhand smoke is MUCH worse than firsthand smoke. Smoke
is especially harmful to children, whose immune systems are less
developed, and their growing systems are severely impacted by the
smoke.
Ideally her kids spend most of their time being raised by a non-smoking
nanny, with CZJ not anywhere near them.
Doubtful she'll succeed in quitting smoking. The vast majority of New
Year's resolutions are broken quickly. Smoking is extremely
"addictive", and smokers are extremely weak, usually giving in to their
cravings for cigarettes.
The article is too kind in calling her a "beauty". No smoker is a
"beauty". Being thin doesn't count if you smoke because the smoking is
what made you thin. Assume all thin smokers would be fat if they
didn't smoke, and all fat smokers would be even fatter.

She's probably more concerned about the effect it will have on her
"looks" than the health of her children. If she was that concerned she
would have given up smoking while pregnant.
