Turenne...
The Sunday Times today set aside a page to report the marriage of Lord
Nicholas Windsor and Paola de Francopan. They appear to have backed
away from referring to her as a 'princess' and state simply that
'...father Louis, (is) a distant relative of 17th century Croatian
royalty'. The article continued 'The Austro-Italo-Croatian noble
heritage of the blond Paola, 37, educated at Wycombe Abbey and
Cambridge, was reflected in the guest list, with aristocrats and
deposed royals from Austria, Portugal, Bavaria and the former
Yugoslavia'.

de, here no sign of nobility!

Can one see, here, that the father is at least a distant relative of a
well known noble Croatian family.

Croatian Royalty: nonsense.

37 years, can the bride still become a mother?

Well at near 40, don't see her as providing an heir. While many women
past 35 do produce, it may involve the use of fertility treatments.

edespalais...
Obviouly her matrimonial duties - downgraded by said woman's age - does
not include to provide an heir. The best solution? Guest list missing!

carlton_drexler...
Are you kidding?? When you are a member of the extended "royal family"
not producing an heir is *not* an option! Just ask Sophie.

sionevar...
Lord Nicholas is not the Queen's son, does not bear a British peerage in his
own right, and is not in the direct line of inheritance to his father's
dukedom. He has more breathing space than Prince Edward.

sionevar...
And before anybody picks up on it, I'm not implying that Edward *is* in the
direct line of inheritance to Philip's dukedom. Just pointing out something
else that gives Nicholas some leeway compared to his cousin...

Princess Alice gave birth to her elder son at 40 and her younger son at 43.

_______________

Of course the bride can still become a mother if there is nothing wrong
with her biologically. Some women may still have children even pass 45
however her chances of becoming pregnant tend to be less favorable.
Many women with careers opt to have children around the age of 40
before their biological clock begin to wind down.
