Field Marshal H.I.H. Naruhiko, 1st Prince Higashikuni
(Higashikuni-no-miya Naruhiko-O). Born at the Nashimoto-no-miya Bette,
Kawaramachi, Kyoto, 3rd December 1887. He died at Tokyo, 20th January
1990. Married at the Kashikodokoro Sanctuary, Imperial Palace, Tokyo,
18th May 1915, H.I.H. Princess Yasu (Toshiko) (b. at the Aoyama Palace,

of Emperor Meiji. They had four sons (two sons and one grandson were
either adopted to other families or founded their own noble houses
outside the Imperial family).
I cannot find anything on him in my notes for the period. He was
educated at St Cyr, but I do not have the dates. He would have been 33
in 1920, so slightly too old perhaps?
The earliest date I have after his 1918 promotion to Major is 1928,
when he was appointed commanding officer of the 3rd Infantry Regiment
of the Japanese Army.
His detailed career details as follows: educ. Gakushuin Peers' Sch.,
