What place in the Order of Precedence did Prince Charles have between
1948 and 1952? Was it simply as the eldest son of a Duke, or did the
Letters Patent that gave him the dignity of a Prince also assign him a

I suspect that worrying about the precedence of a 3-year old was not seen as
urgent. (George V did not worry about the princely style of Arthur of Connaught
until he was almost 3).

Charles' father, Prince Philip, was created a Royal Duke by LP
immediately prior to his marriage to Princess Elizabeth, so this I
guess is what made him Prince Charles and not Mr. Mountbatten.
