The council has asked the queen's law firm, Farrer & Co. of London, for
permission to sell the property -- which might fetch a better price
because of its royal connections. The queen has not yet replied.
She could always give it to some 'relative' :)

In case anyone thinks this is a purely British concept, here is a
case from Indiana involving stock valued at $485.20

And here is a Supreme Court case where 'every State not already
a party to this proceeding and the District of Columbia sought leave
to intervene.'
