He is famous for being the founder of the Asociación de Hidalgos a Fuero de
España, created with the purpose to obtain the recognition of the untitled
nobility (nobleza llana).
During his long life he reached realizations that seldom can be imaged by
only one person.

In 1953 founded the review Hidalguía (with the purpose to fight against the
fake genealogies and fake orders of chivalry) and The Instituto
Internacional de Genealogía y Heráldica.
In 1954 founded the Instituto Salazar y Castro and The Asociacion de
Hidalgos a Fuero de España, realizing in the following years The Colegio

He organized 2 International Congresses of Genealogy and Heraldry in Madrid
(1955 and 1982).
During the International Congress of Genealogy and Heraldry of 1955 in
Madrid he was the inventor of the International Commission for Order of
in 2003.
He published an enormous number of books and articles pertaining the study
of History (he was a great expert on Charles V), Heraldry, Genealogy,
Chivalric Orders and Documentary Sciences.
He founded in 1959 the first School of Genealogy in the world.
He was strictly connected to Italy where he remained in exile for 7 years,
and got married to the first wife Donna Liliana Guastini (1915-1980): for
this reason loved always so much this Country where maintained numerous
friends and where the passion for these matters was born.
In the occasion of his 75th birthday he authorized the foundation of The
Association of Owners of Certifications of Genealogy, Nobility and Coat of
Arms issued by the Corps of the Cronistas King of Arms of Spain (whose he
was President) with the purpose to protect the lawful owners of these
historical heraldic documents.
In 1993 for the close friendship that tied him to me he helped me in the
persuading the surviving members of The Istituto Italiano di Genealogia ed
Araldica to enter in the new body (Istituto Araldico Genealogico Italiano)
declaring it successor of the Istituto Italiano di Genealogia ed Araldica
and becoming founding members.

On the model of his own review Hidalguía he suggested the name for the new
Italian review Nobiltà whose he was President of the Scientific Committee.
He was the King of Arms of The Carlist Pretendender Carlos VIII (recognized
by Franco) and for this reason in 1952 he became one of the four Cronistas
de Armas of Spain, charge that maintained during all his life.
For numerous years he was the most important supporter of the claim of HRH
The Infante Don Carlos, Duke of Calabria.
