The economic chaos coming out of the Great war, the failure to provide
the kind of services demanded by the returning soldiers, and then the
chaotic reduction of government expenditure inspired by a politically
motivated campaign against "waste". But principally for the mistakes
of Foreign policy in which the US was allowed to opt out, highly
unfavourable terms for repayment of the US debt were agreed, and the
Versailles peace conference set up a completely unstable situation in

Unemployment Insurance Act were the foundations of a reasonable
approach to supporting society. There were also some minor changes
