Charles von Hamm...
Is Lavinia (born 1961) a Princess of Yugoslavia? If so, does she have any
sort of style (Highness, Royal Highness)?

She is the natural daughter of HRH Prince Andrew (Andrej) of Yugoslavia and
HSH Princess Kira of Leiningen, born while Andrew was still married to HH
Princess Christina of Hesse-Cassel. Andrew and Kira wed, after Andrew's
divorce from Christina, and adopted their natural daughter.

The adoption has probably been changed to a legitimatio per matrimonium
subsequens, to which a declaratio by Peter and Alexander has been added.

pierre_aronax...
In Canon law at least, a "legitimation by subsequent marriage" (which,
by the way, is not a legitimation since the children are considered
fully legitimate, and not merely legitimated) can not apply to childern
of parents who were already married to somebody else at the time of the
birth.
I don't know for Yougoslavian law.

Legitimatio per matrimonium subsequens is an institution by the [Roman
Catholic] Canon Law. Therefore ..

pierre_aronax...
It comes from Roman law and exists in modern Civil laws (for example in
French law it exists or at least existed until recently). Simply, I
don't know the specificities in the Yugoslavian case.

Charles von Hamm...
Prior to the abolition of the Yugoslavian monarchy, were there any
provisions in the constitution for the titles and status of "princes" and
"princesses" who became legitimate after the marriage of the natural
parents, or was it an informal extension by means of the declarations with
regard to Lavinia?

Also, thank you for the answers thus far, Seth and Count Gudenus.

Frog prince, yet awaits on a lillypad, for his fair maiden,
to save him from a fate, worse than toad-land!

Who, shall be the maiden, to kiss a prince, and set him
free? Surely, we do not jest, it be Camilla Parker Bowles!

For such a prince, a princess is found, for such a king, a queen.
