Can a baby be "added" to a parent's US passport? Thanks!

No. Each US citizen, including infants, needs his or her own passport.
Because they change so much physically as they grow, in the US,
children's passports are only good for 5 years (versus the standard 10
years for those over 18), btw.

Even that's a bit long (apart from the expense and hassle of more
frequent renewals). Kit is now four and his passport photo is of him at
about 8 weeks.

No.
Every US citizen needs his/her own passport for international travel,
even a newborn baby. Parents haven't been allowed to add their
children to their American passport for many years now.

I don't think they can be added. I think
the baby gets his or her own passport.
Best wishes,
Ericka
