Protecting "Eager Little Fingers"

Paula...
When my oldest was learning to crawl, she was always attracted to
doors. Often, trying to maneuver through / around them, she wound up
getting her fingers caught between the door and door jamb. Tired of
draping a pair of socks or shirt over the door to prevent it from
closing on her fingers, I came up with a solution.

Cristabel...
I have a better solution. Let the little brat get her fingers pinched in
the door. Once (or twice if she's a slow learner) should do the trick.
Worked for my little brother.

Cristabel. "That'll larn ya."

The Door ELF (patent and trademark pending) is designed to prevent
little fingers from getting pinched during play and exploration. It is

a handy little idea that is strung between opposing door handles that
prevents complete closure of a household door. It is filled with a
non-compresible material that will not break down over time (mine are
still perfect after 3 continuous years of use). To close the door,
simply remove one of the door-handle attachments, and the Door ELF
remains suspended from the opposing door handle, so you are never left
searching for it (in my house, if it left the door knob, I would never
see it again!) The Door ELF does not require your door to be modified
in any way!

The Door ELF is also helpful for people with limited mobility in the
hands, so that doors are easier to open without the use of a door knob.

It is also handy for keeping pets from accidentally closing themselves

in rooms when they shouldn't!
