My daughter is 10 months old and she barely stands, these days we `re
facing bad days perhaps bkoz of teething..she`s having her first
tooth..i`m not sure .i need to know if she`s late in her progress than
other kids of the same age.

JennP...
I wouldn't say so. My ds didn't stand until he was 11 months. There is a
*huge* range of what is normal at that age.

Clisby...
As Beth said, this varies widely. At 10 months, my 1st child had been
walking for one and a half months. At the same age, my 2nd could pull
up on furniture and cruise, but couldn't stand alone - he didn't walk
until he was 13 months old.

Stephanie...
Almost carbon copy for my 2 kids.

Donna Metler...
And my daughter's even more extreme-at 10 months, she wasn't crawling yet,
let alone pulling up, standing, or walking, (although she was rolling and
sort of inchworming) but she had about a 10 word vocabulary and was starting
to use some telegraphic speech (mostly What's that (wat dat?)) . At 14
months, she's pulling up and cruising some, crawling great, but not able to
stand or walk with us holding her hands, let alone unsupported. However,
she's got about a 40 word vocabulary in English, equally many in ASL, and
was counting bats with the Count on Sesame street this morning.

And, at least as of her 12 month appointment, she wasn't considered to be
significantly enough delayed on motor skills to be an issue. Her
pediatrician figures that she just decided that speech was more important
than movement right now, that she can get where she wants to go, and that
she'll eventually even out.
