DS (12 months) came down with a stomach bug on Friday. He threw up a number
of times Friday and Saturday. Started keeping things down on Saturday but
came down with a slight fever and diahrea (sp?). It's now Monday and the
fever is gone but the diahrea is still present. (Now the poor guy has an
ucky diaper rash to boot). He is drinking a decent amount of liquids but is
eating very little. He seems OK for a while but then will be fussy. He's
not sleeping that great.
Question is: Does he need to see a doctor? How long should I go before he
would need to see one. DH wants to take him in at the smallest sniffle it

The problem with juice, water and Gatorade is that none of them contain the
right amount of salt. Oral rehydration formulae, like Pedialyte, have a
better concentration of salt (sodium and potassium), so that the child's
salt balance will be better. In addition, juice has so much sugar that if
she is not absorbing the sugar, she will get diarrhea.
So oral rehydration solutions like pedialyte are recommended. They also
contain some sugar.
If you have any concerns about this, call your doctor.

seems but I may wait until it's too long. Not sure who is right. (Couldn't
take him today anyways since doctor is out until tomorrow.) Just wondering
what you'd do?
I hate it when they are sick at this age because they can't tell you exactly
how they are feeling or what it is they want you to do to make them feel
better.
