I need advice, my 14 month old use to have a great appetite, but she
has suddenly just stopped eating, she just has one teaspoon of baby
food and then shakes her head and says NO, she use to love fruit and
now wont have any. I have tried so many different things and dont know
what to do. When she refuses food I just say ignore her and let her
get outta the highchair cause I dont wana make a big deal of it.
Anyone have any ideas or had this before?
Is it just a stage, I dont know what to do.

They all go through it periodically over time. I'd switch her to table
food and see what she does.

Try giving her foods that taste better than baby food. Baby food is
pretty bland. Perhaps something more flavorful will get her
interested again.

If you're still feeding her babyfood at 14 months, I
think this is *very* common. Few 14 month olds are willing
to still be spoon-fed baby food. Many babies refuse that
much earlier (my second and third kids would have nothing
to do with babyfood well before 9 months). Switch her to
table food and let her feed herself. It might take a little
bit of time for her to adjust, but I suspect she'll eat much
better.
Best wishes,
Ericka

Are you letting her self-feed? Perhaps she just wants to have personal
control over it. It's a great time to introduce and teach her how to
use a spoon. You are right, you cannot force her to eat, and she will
eat when she's hungry. But if she's expressing independence by refusing
to eat, maybe she'll express it by feeding herself.

You're absolutely right, Stasya...
I solved the problem with my groovy girl by letting her self-feed.
and yes, Chonni, it's just a matter of a stage, she'll get back to what
she used to when it comes to eat, especially if you try the above
solution by Stasya.
