Incorrect. We own more books than either of mine enjoy. We get hand-me

So, maybe I overstated things. Certainly some families can afford to
own thousands of books, but many can't. The list on the blog should
help parents find quality books (and we can debate what "quality"
means, but take the term at face value) among the thousands available
in libraries and bookstores. These books tend to be ones that parents
can read aloud many times without growing tired of them.

Our toddler's favorites right now are "Owl Babies" by Martin Waddell, "Mr.
Gumpy's Outing" by John Birmingham, "Jamberry", any of the Sandra Boynton
books (while light on content, good for a little humor and phonemic
awareness), and the old standby "Goodnight Moon".
