Shelley...
I'm a mom to two boys ages 4 and 1. DH and I are 99% positive we don't want
any more children. I went to see OB/GYN about possibly getting a tubal done
(DH doesn't want a vasectomy and I'm not going to push it). She gave me
pros and cons and also threw out a few other options, one of them being the
Marena IUD (sp?). I thought it sounded interesting as it lasted 5 years,
didn't have to have surgery and it's reversible where the tubal is not. I'm
32 and kind of like the idea too, that I could put this is now and still get
the tubal at 37 if I want or just put another IUD in.

Biggest downside for me is that I'm not very familiar with this type of
birth control. She mentioned that IUD's of old had a few problems but this
is newer and better. Anybody used this? Any thoughts on one versus the
other?

It's been a little too long since I've concerned myself with birth control
(factory's closed), but, 99% sure isn't a high enough number IMO to consider
tubal ligation.

Pink cat...
I have been using the Mirena, a birth control device, since November
last year. I had been bleeding everyday for the first four months. I
felt disappointed and wanted to remove it. Now I feel much better. No
period makes me feel free. There were a few drops of blood
occasionally after my husband and I make love. I think Mirena is a
good thing for woman who doesn't want another baby.
