Silver Mirror. Antique?

USSEnterprise...
Found this in my cellar. Appears to me made of silver, or at least
plated. Has a regular mirror on one side, and an enlarging mirror on
the other. Is barely tarnished, may have been cleaned at some point. No
one in my family knows anything about it, or how old it is, or what it
could be worth. I know that it may not be an antique, in which case
this topic is misplaced, and I appologize if it is. Here's a picture.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Simon...
I disagree with Kris and think it could have some antiquity, even if
only 100 years old. It is a lady's version of a shaving mirror, from the
decoration. My reasoning is that the use of iron or steel was common
during the 19th century to give strength or a heavy base to silver goods
such as candlesticks which were then covered with green baize to hide
the ugliness and protect what it stood on. This is rarely seen with
20thC items. I think its probably from the late Victorian or Edwardian
period around 1900, when shaving mirrors were fairly common.

Balanced View...
I would have to agree with Kris, these were all over Decorator stores
along with Art Nouveau style wine glasses and Potpourris as late as last
year. There is always a possibility that it's older, but as Kris has
also stated it would require examination.

Kris Baker...
What I'm seeing is a 1960s/1970s faux mod-Victorian make-up
mirror very similar to one I owned years ago. Silvertone over
pot metal, finished to look antiqued/slightly tarnished.

I'd be happy to be wrong, but the fact that it's convex/concave
pretty much shows its age. But look for silver markings on the
frame, and manufacturer (or at least the country of origin)
stamped on it somewhere....maybe on the bottom, and
report back.

Kris Baker...
The markings are probably under the felt. You can pull that
back and look. But I'm sure it's (basically) "new".
