I found that white vinegar is cleaning off mold from some old chairs that I
got. It is even getting rid of some of the smell, too bad it's not hot out
side so that I could help air them out. Carol In WI

Weather below freezing will remove odours from just about anything. If
you have 'real' winter, put them in an unheated garage or shed for a few
days. Make sure they are clean first.

Really? Your winters must be different than ours in the Rockies ;)

My garage carpet has an odor

I'm speechless.

Not the whole garage, but I like a six-foot wide strip running down
the "walking" side (like a giant doormat). I think the cat liked
it too (much).

Your estimate's the best I've had yet

Yes, because it has been there long term and has been through repeated
damp/dry cycles! I regularly use 'cold' to remove odours from articles.
Seal in a plastic bag (to contain odour), put some newspapers in the
bag as well, and place in deep freeze for a few days.
Try it on something.
