Kernix...
Does anyone have an idea on how I could get some authentic skelton keys
apprasied? I have a dozen or so, some very old, some6+" longs that fold
in half into themselves, and all with ornamental "head"?

Chris Bacon...
I've looked at some keys on e-bay described as "skeleton keys" -
they just look like old (sometimes) keys for ward locks, and some
for lever locks. What makes them "skeleton keys", which has a
specific meaning (at least to me!)?

Trivial examples:

## Skeleton

Hosmer...
So in 98 hours the authentic keys have gone from "some very old" to
"antique".
These are truly mystical keys.

Kernix...
What's your problem? Excuse me for referring to them as antiques.

Don't laugh - I live in Philly and the Antiques roadshow is coming in
August - should I go?

Nancy1...
I doubt they have any appreciable value at all. Check out the famous
on-line auction site -a set of 24 antique keys going for $24. A
hand-forged antique key starting (and not going anywhere) at $4.99.
And so on.

If I were going to stand in line at the AR, I'd find something to take
that I have a good idea might have some value, or else something that
is whimsical or unique in some way that would catch the camera's eye.
