Kris Baker...
Add your own - here's my favorites.

Dave...
Along these lines of cleaning tips, any advice for cleaning and
preserving this side board? I intend to keep this piece till I die,not a
chance of selling it.Also if anybody has a source for replacing the
missing drawerpulls? Any tips would be appreciated, like I said ,it's a
keeper.

Robert Feiertag...
Does anyone have any tips for cleaning alabaster? I have a lovely alabaster
clock that has been heavily stained by cigarette smoke.

Lee...
Bob..... all you ever wanted to know about restoring and repairing
alabaster.

Robert Feiertag...
Many thanks to all of you who replied to my question. With the articles that
Lee and Kris pointed me to, I should be able to clean the case. It's pure
white, by the way, and no, I don't want anything to do with the "new Italian
alabaster!"

Lee...
Bob..... how about some before and after pictures?

Kris Baker...
The only thing I can find on the web, is from a guy who'll sell
you something if you email him privately. Since it's soft and
absorbent (like soapstone), I'd put some soapy ammonia
water on a cloth and wipe off quickly....in a place that doesn't
show.

Or tell everyone it's that "new Italian alabaster" --

Robert Feiertag...
I'm a real Luddite where computers are concerned. If I can get a computer
literate friend to help me, maybe I can get some pics. up. Don't hold your
breath. Before pictures are a possibility. After pictures require an
"after", and that may be a lot iffer.

Forest Duck...
Soak in mild solution of soap and water.
NB: do not try on paper products. Test a small area before using. Do not
slip on soapy solution spilled on floor.

Those utensil marks on china can be removed with
Bartender's Friend (or Cameo stainless steel/aluminum
polish). Also works to get the marks out of your white
porcelain kitchen sink. Work carefully.

Sticky labels/price tags: Ronsonol lighter fluid. Put a
few drops on the tag only, let it sit for a few seconds and
lift off. You may need to put some on a cotton ball and
rub carefully to remove glue. (Some will advise you to
use "orange oil" products....but they're basically
the same thing with coloring and scent added - and can
stain. I've had it ruin white paper with a faint tinge of
its color left behind.)

For price tags on things that can be washed -plain old vegeable oil right
out of the pantry. For crumbs under the kitchen table, nothing beats the dog

Kris Baker...
I tried wiping my dog on the floor, but she got mad.

Karen Burns...
LOL! You've got a Swiffer Setter, do you?

Ballpoint ink: hairspray.
