When my grandmother died I received a Limoges tray.I have searched
everywhere to find one similar to it but can't find one. If anyone can
help me with this it would be great. I don't want to sell it, I'm just
curious as to it's value for insurance and handling reasons. It is
white with gold trim all the way around. It is 10 inches long and
approximately 8 inches wide.It has a leafy, scalloped shape with a
handle that would be held with the thumb on the right hand. I'm not
sure what kind of flowers are painted on it, but they are pink with
lavender hues with leaves and twigs. On the back it is stamped in green
with a T&V. Above the T&V it says Venice 1892,with something else that
I can't quite make out. Under the T&V it says Limoges France. There is
initials off to the side that were painted in lavender then gone over
with the same gold that is on the trim. It is a beautiful piece, and I
would love to know more about it.

Have you checked completed auctions on that "big online
auction site"? There are hundreds of Limoges trays, all
handpainted florals, and you may see something similar.
7413342474 (which was bid up to $25 but didn't sell) is
basically the same item you describe).
If you're wanting to formally insure this piece, though, you'll
need a written appraisal from a reliable source. Such
appraisals (for insurance value) should be done on a flat-
fee basis, and *not* as a percentage of the value of the
piece.
Your item really isn't replaceable, since there's no other
one just like it from your grandmother. That's its value.
Take good care of it. Even if it breaks, you'll want to
have it repaired...just for the memories.
