Hi, a metal pipe with a butterfly on the base was given to my dad
before i was born - i really dont know anything about it and would be
gratefull if someone could assist me with this.

What kind of pipe? Smoking pipe? Plumbing pipe? Hash pipe?
We don't know when you were born. How old is this pipe? Was
it new when your Dad got it?

Well....we don't know what "given to my Dad before I was born"
means, so we don't know when that was. If it was in the
late 1960s or early 1970s, I'd say it was an Asian import item
from Pier One or a head shop. (Not all head shops are disrepu-
table; I know one that Karl Rove worked at.)

Oops. I forgot. I guess everyone knows that Karl Rove started
his illustrious career by selling such things at Salt Lake City's

I don't know, these days I think him working there makes it disreputable

Even worse: when he thanked J.D. Williams (the U of U's
noted political professor), Williams shot back that Rove
must have skipped class ;)
Yeah, Rove was a head shop doper. Kinda fits, though,
with his milieu.
