I'm searching for information on three identical plates. The markings
on the reverse side are as follows:
(from top to bottom)
"Orchard"
Bursley Ware
(a picture of acrown, with seven dots on each side)
Crown Pottery
Burslem
England
Reg. No. 732940
Each plate has a smaill hole in the centre and one has a metal
"T"-shaped handle fitted.
There is also the impression of W10xx but I can't quite male out the
last two figures.
I've found that the earliest it could be is 1928 (not quite sure). The
source of that information was
In addition the name Charlotte Rhead keeps coming up in my research.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You really don't have three plates, because they don't exist
as plates anymore. They've been drilled, to produce
something else.
You have a 3-tier tidbit tray (usually from the 1950s-1970s),
that's evidently missing some of the parts. You have
only the top plate/tier, and not the metal parts that are
needed to connect the two bottom plates.
Tidbits seemed to be supremely unpopular items, as they require
too much storage space for the minimum benefit they provide
when occasionally used on a buffet table. Even worse, when
the holes were drilled in the plates, the plates (a dinner plate,
salad, and bread) were ruined. People would take them apart
for storage, then some of the parts got lost.
Anyway, that's what you have.
If this is a family treasure, maybe you can prowl hardware
stores for fittings (you can look at eBay listings to see
what those fittings should look like). But the plates themselves
are worthless and tidbit trays are pretty much so, too UNLESS
your china pattern is heavily collected. I can't even find any
on the net. You might want to poke around Replacements
Limited and see if you can find your pattern there. I didn't
have luck.
Others here may disagree.
