Kris Baker...
Antiques Roadshow is in SLC this weekend. My husband's coworker had two
tickets, so asked him to go with her. He grabbed an old chair from the TV
room, and it was appraised by one of the Keno brothers. The figure he
(Keno) came up with, was almost exactly what we'd always guessed. The
chair's just a "junker" left behind in the home my parents bought 50 years
ago, and which I "inherited" when the family moved away.

Here's the images. Take a guess.

DH says he couldn't believe what people were taking, and the best "Keno
line" he heard was directed at a couple who brought in a painted big thing
with broken-off legs: "I can't appraise that until you put that thing
together." Lots of garbage going into the Salt Palace this weekend. DH
had fun, and that was the reason for going.

Hmmmm, $500-$800 ?

Ding! Ding! We have a weiner. Actually, $600-$800. DH says that the
other Southern-accented appraiser was collaborating, and agreed with Keno
(Leigh, I believe but I can't tell them apart and I wasn't there). Their
opinion was that it was English, "from the 19-teens", part machine-made and
part-handmade. The only thing that surprised me was that it had lesser
value because it was a rocker, rather than an armchair. But people just
don't want rockers anymore.
