I collect tea cups, and my sister recently gave me a cup that has me
puzzled...
The maker is Crown Staffordshire Ltd. and the mark dates it to sometime
after 1930. I've identified the pattern as #F15793 (Lyric/Tunis-Blue)
and I believe it's probably a miniture. However, the thing that
puzzles me is that it appears to be a tea BOWL - no handle - with a
very deep saucer. I did read somewhere that Crown Staffordshire
continued to make reproductions well into the 20th century, so perhaps
this is a miniture copy of an earlier tea cup, part of a child's set?
Did my sis actually stumble onto something quite rare and valuable, or
this just another 20th century tea cup?
I'd like to at least know some history on this cup if anyone has access
to a book on Crown Staffordshire...

If you do a search on the web Images, you will find one just sold in ebay
UK for 5.5 pounds.
Picture seems the same to me.

Why not post the URL here? I don't know what you searched for.

Sorry.... a senior's moment! I searched web-search Images with the pattern

I remember that pattern.
Manufactured between 1959 and 1978 (so it's not an antique)...and
most likely in the 1970s. Crown Staffordshire items were popular
during that time period, especially my choice (the Blue Calico of
which I have a full service for 16).
Each pattern had an incredible number of pieces that were sold
mostly in mid- to high-end gift and china shops. I found my soap
dish in a bathwares shop, plant pots at the nursery, etc. My pattern
had miniatures, too (miniature pitcher and bowl set, small planter
with saucer, etc). Your piece may be the small planter or other
item set onto the deep saucer? (My BC saucers are much deeper
than regular saucers would be.)
Replacements Limited has a listing of the pieces they've identified,
at these links. But....the prices you see are for people who want
to buy their things "right away" and are three to four times higher
than general retail value.
You can also check this listing of Blue Calico, for similar pieces in
that pattern. The shapes were generally all the same.
and for comparison of pieces and ID of your item:
You can also go through the entire Royal Staffordshire
listings there, and see if you can ID yours.
