Yers. I'm out here. This group has only just appeared on my Youblunder
server. Looks interesting.

For what it's worth, I collect ancient technical stuff. Brass and mahogany
electrical and electronic instruments, ancient wirelesses and test gear.
Also typewriters and office equipment and more recently, ancient computer

stuff.

Also got quite a bit of 50s grey hammer finish lab equipment such as a Pye
Mirror Galvo and the very rare pre-amplifier giving a sensitivity of 0.1µV.

Prides of my collection: Vibrating reed mains frequency meters; a Fellowes
Magneto Company 2 valve straight set wireless complete with bright emitter
valves and amp; several sub-standard Volt- and Ammeters from the National
Physical Laboratory, a Hammond Multiplex typewriter and a GPO No. 18 test
set etc., etc.

The meters aren't all that interesting to look at. They're WW2 vintage and
the interest lies in what they might have been used on.

Oh, and an Admiralty Master Contactor (clockwork pulse generator) that very
likely came from HMS Belfast.

Also, old technical books like 'Telephonology' about the first Strowger
automatic telephone systems in the US, a RN 1938 Wireless Telegraphy
Handbook and several similar tomes.

Hi Jon. We be here, quiet but listening. Have a happy new year (and
that's an order!)

Janice Hudnall...
Jon,
So sorry to hear (in your previous post) that you are having a difficult
time. I remember several years ago your Christmas greeting that was a
lovely thing - and from my perspective , which was from one of the lower
levels of hell, it was a description of a life so blessed that it seemed to
me a fantastic dream. Time has a way of moving on, and circumstances
change. This year we had a quiet gentle Christmas, one that a few years ago,
I would have never have thought possible. I guess what I'm attempting
(awkwardly) to say is this: be tenacious, and be hopeful. Life, if nothing
else is changeable, and your turn to be happy is on its way.
Best wishes,
janice
