Hi, Several yrs ago, purchased at an estate sale, a Canvas and Leather
Case made by Abercrombie and Fitch. It is 56 inches long, 6 inches
wide and 3 inches deep. This closes at one end with zipper closure.
Has an accessory bag on outside with zipper closure.
Very sturdy, no lining. I originally thought this to be some sort of
gun case, but the length is 56 inches. Can you help identify this
case? What can it be used for?
I posted pictures on a blog site.
I hope someone can help with this mystery. .Littlebird

It could be a gun bag some rifles are pretty darned long. I can think
of at least one rifle I've owned that was close to 60 inches in length.

Maximum length for a cricket bat is 38".
Cases are designed to hold up to six bats, plus the four stumps, in the
case. If a player has new bats, he may also be carrying a knocker in
the case.
Gloves go in the outer pocket.
web-search images and I'm sure you will see that the design is fairly
universal and looks just like yours. Like most older products they were
simply made with modern version carrying logos and decorative (?) markings.
