ksbauerly...
I am new to this, so if I'm posting to the wrong group, please let me
know...

My Dad and I found my grandmother's china several years ago and we are
trying to find some missing pieces. My grandparents were married in
1936. Dad thinks this is their wedding china. It is a bright colorful
pattern with little flowers around the outer and inner edges and 3
large flower groups and 3 small flower groups alternating around the
dinner plates. The large flower groups are in a golden basket. It is
trimmed in gold. The china is in relatively good condition, only a few
chips. On the back in silver is "Bavaria", then under that and smaller
is "Germany", then the Roman numeral V under that.

We went out to replacements.com and we're pretty sure its pattern
BAV26. I am assuming that is their designation and not the real one.
In addition, they only have pieces available that we don't need.

Can anyone point me to somewhere that would help me find the real
pattern name and where to find the missing pieces? I scanned in one of
the plates and I can take digital photos if that would help.

Do you think any particular time of day or day of the week is better than
any other?
You're right; Replacements Limited will assign their own code
number to unidentified patterns. The good news is that it often
becomes the standard description. If you search that big online
auction site, you may find pieces using that code number.

But mostly, you'll be searching for pictures that match your
father's china. There's innumerable patterns, and you might
want to look for complementary patterns to use as "fill ins"
while you're searching.

The only other place I can think of, with big quantities, would
be edish (Salt Lake City and Houston)....and they're out of
all Bavaria.
