King's Crown...
My expertise is with King's Crown and Franciscan Flair pattern, but I want
to identify some old furniture I have. The couch and chair belonged to my
husband's grandmother, who passed away in 1990 at 89 years old. The same
person who gave me my first piece of King's Crown. When she passed we kept
the old couch and chair. The fabric was shredded and we had them recovered,
so we could actually sit on them. I know that can lower the value on the
pieces, but value wasn't what we were concerned with. We wanted to use them
and have for the last 16 years. I am frequently asked what they are and I
have no clue. I now have them sharing a room with my King's Crown and would
like to know what the furniture is too. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Pictures are in the directory below. If any more are needed
please let me know.

Best Regards,

Lynne

Kris Baker...
Hi, Lynne.

I've used your site often. Thank you for having it.

Recovering upholstered furniture doesn't devalue it; that's just
maintenance.
As for an ID, I can't help with that. I always say "It's from the 1950s"
;)

King's Crown...
Hi Kris,

Glad the site has been of some help. It's definitely a labor of love for
the pattern of King's Crown.

Glad to hear that recovering didn't devalue as it just wasn't usuable to be
left alone. I like things I can use. I do use my King's Crown too. After
reading around something occurred to me ... turn the couch over and see what
it says on the bottom. I just wouldn't have thought of that. I'll have to
see if there is any writing on it.
