Where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here?
The battle's done, and we kind of won
So we sound our victory cheer
Where do we go from here?
Why is the path unclear?
When we know home is near?
Understand we'll go hand-in-hand
But we'll walk alone in fear
(TELL ME!)
Where do we go from here?
When does the end ... appear?
When do the trum- ... -pets cheer?
The curtains close
On a kiss, God knows
We can tell the end is near
Where do we go from here?
Curious how the song from Buffy's musical episode apply so much toward
tonight's episode of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, from winning the battle but
feeling somewhat hollow in the victory, being close to "home", two
battlestars going hand-in-hand, yet each crewmember going alone in fear ...
and of course ... ending on a kiss.

A most important piece of information that Baltar obtained from Pegasus
Six and explained to Admiral Cain is that there IS a Cylon homeworld.
The fleet can never reach Earth for metatextual reasons (the show would
be over, or worse, Galatica 1980), but the fleet could go to the Cylon
homeworld to advance the story and to just show cool stuff that the
Cylons have built. Besides, to have any hope of some day returning to
Caprica to rescue survivors, a dent has to put in the Cylon war machine
by destroying some of its production facilities.
While Galatica/Pegasus probably do not possess enough nukes to blast
the surface of a larger asteroid let alone a full planet, they also
would not have to worry about occupying any territory. Considering
they have a couple of excess jump drives, I am sure something can be
rigged up to accelerate some asteroids to do to the Cylon production
facilities what science speculates was done to the dinosaurs.
It's either that or relying on the Cylons to be James Bondian villains
who rigged a self-destruct device that can be activated by one button.

Well, we kick the frakking Cylons out of our homes. But there's no such
thing as going home again, 'cause it's never the same...
