So SNY, the new Mets network, is airing their first game. Everything's
going well. The 2nd inning ends. They return from commercial and now
they're airing a game... FROM 1986!!!

Well, in all honesty, it didn't get much better for the Mets than in
'86!
You see, this is what happens when the fans and the cable companies
allow these fat-headed baseball team owners to start their own cable
sports channels. But I can tell you that there IS hope! The Minnesota
Twins tried this nonsense two years ago. The major cable companies
formed a brick wall and wouldn't negotiate at all. The fans were
non-plussed, and as the early part of the season wore on, the fans
became increasingly irate at losing their Twins games. The fans put the
blame squarely and properly on the Twins organization for taking their
games off of Fox Sports Net. There was also a lot of bad blood because
the Twins' sports channel had taken the rights to Gopher basketball
earlier in the winter, which essentially meant the Gophers weren't on TV
that season. By the first week in May-- one month into the baseball
season-- Victory Sports was shut down, and the team signed a long-term
deal with FSN.

That's hilarious!
Didn't the Mets win it all in '86?
David...

Yep. Just checked again... Today's game is back, there's no audio so
the studio hosts are doing play-by-play, and, for our convenience,
there's a bug in the left-side middle of the screen that says LIVE.
If only there was a "training" of sorts during which they could work
these bugs out. In the "spring" perhaps...

It's just on a 20 year tape delay.

That is not a problem, it's a new feature to make Mets fans feel good.
