Without a trace Sunday

Missed the last few minutes of WOT on Sunday; taped show and didn't allow
for football overtime. Anyone do a wrap-up? Couldn't find one yet on
TV.com ...

This was another case where a simple phone call would have solved the
case in 2 minutes, just like with the New Orleans flood/killing/watch
story a few weeks ago.

"Honey, there's a pregnant girl in trouble with her boyfriend and I'm
gonna help her out. I'll be out of town for a day or two. Don't worry."

As for the story, the baby was rescued. The father was arrested and the
social worker and his wife were reunited. There was no explanation for
the incident with the other pregnancy, nor why Mary Elizabeth Mast's
character's pregnancy is a secret when she's so obviously showing and
already wearing maternity-friendly clothes.

For a show that has done a good job combining the procedural and the
personal, this relationship has been handled rather erratically. First,
I know Mary Elizabeth is only recurring, but why not use her last week
when Jack went missing? Then what was mentioned above, that she's
obviously pregnant yet Samantha had no idea she was with child, let
alone that it was Jack's. Finally, the incident with the rug. I'm
assuming this is foreshadowing of trouble with the pregnancy, but at
this rate, who knows?
