TCM Web Site Schedule

Brian O...
Does anyone know how to get the schedules at the TCM web site to display
correctly?

I try to choose the weekly schedule and I get redirected to the TCM home
page.

On the rare occasion that I can actually get the weekly schedule page to
display, when I select MT for my time zone, it starts to reload showing MT,
then flips back to the default ET.

I have been sending e-mail through the "Contact Us" part of the site for
over six months but nothing gets fixed. I assume that the TCM web site
programmers are incompetent and probably just delete any complaints that
point out their inadequacies.

Does anyone know any other way to contact TCM? I'm looking for a toll-free
phone number or a real e-mail address (I don't feel like paying for a toll
call to troubleshoot their site for them).

Of course, if TCM didn't have such good programming 24 hours a day, I
wouldn't care or need to use their web site.

Brian O...
Thanks for your reply.

However, since it is now tomorrow (relative to when you posted your reply),
I got an error stating "The page you are looking for is no longer here".

His link worked fine for me even though it's Monday. I'm beginning to
suspect, more and more, that the problem is Your browser and not the
website. I've never had a problem with TCM's site. Have you tried
using a different one like IE, Firefox, or Netscape?

Here's an alternate link that displays the current day
Try bookmarking that.

Brian O...
Thanks for the suggestions.

This link is probably the best in that it doesn't seem to initiate the
squirrelly behavior the others do.

A different browser isn't really an option for me. Plus, I feel that a web
site should be designed to be robust enough to work with most popular
browsers (and I use IE).

Wait, maybe I spoke too soon. I just tried the link above
looking for is no longer here ..." message.

Maybe they regularly play with the web site (feeble attempts to fix it?) and
that's why I have trouble viewing it. Or, some hacker has gotten into the
server and is playing havoc with the whole mess.

course this displays the daily schedule for the Eastern time zone. I am
finding that I have to change the time zone to MT first, then select the
weekly schedule.

Wait, again. The link didn't work, it redirected to

displayed correctly. I changed the time zone to MT, and that loaded and
displayed correctly. Then I selected Weekly schedule, and it loaded but
defaulted to ET. I tried to change to MT and I got redirected to

I guess you can understand the frustration I am having. Doing the same
thing should produce the same results, but at the TCM web site that isn't
true.

fred_h_haddad...
No not really. I never seem to have a problem. I type in
tcm.turner.com. I click schedule, I print it out, and now I have a
full month's guide:

You're using IE. What version? My version is 6.0

Yet another link to try.

fred_h_haddad...
That link's available from the Front Page:
- left hand side: Underneath the "what's on now"
- click full schedule

I'm a bit surprised you never tried that? (shrug)

BTW, I have no viruses on my computer that could be messing things up. I
have an anti-virus program with up-to-date definitions, both hardware and
software firewalls, and two spyware programs that I run regularly. I never
have this type of problems at any other site I visit.

OK, I have pretty much given up on the TCM site at this point. Until they
hire someone who can create a stable, functional web site, I'm not going to
waste any more of my time watching it display pages I didn't request.

Is there any other site that gives a detailed listing of the TCM schedule?

Brian O...
Thanks, again, for your help.

I'm using IE 6.0 with some but not all upgrades / patches.

I just tried the link with the Redirect_Exclude and it worked. I then
changed time zones, then selected weekly and was able to finally see the
weekly schedule. Of course, the other link you gave me worked once or twice
too, so who knows what the future will bring.

I'll check out the zap2it link.

Or, does anyone know how to contact (for free) a real person at TCM?

I usually don't drink during the day but TCM is causing me to change that
policy.

You have illustrated part of the problem: I would like to save a "favorite"
or "bookmark" that I can just click on and get the CURRENT weekly schedule.
A year or so ago, I had a similar link (without the startDate parameter)
that would work, but it no longer works. Using your suggested method I
would have to edit the link each time I use it, putting in a valid
startDate. I edited the startDate to today, but got only the daily listing.

The second method you suggested also only gives the schedule for the current
day. Then I can click on "Click to view by day or WEEK" and get what I want
(although the page has yet to finish loading).

So, it appears that this site is set up so that one cannot go directly to
the desired schedule (unless it is daily) and time zone.

I guess the TCM web site programmers learned their trade in the silent era
and haven't learned anything about web site programming since then.

Mojo...
I just check the three-month schedule periodically and enter what I want
into my calendar.
