Finally Eric Forman gets to be the bully!

Topher must have bulked up for the role. As I remember from the comics,
Eddie Brock was a bruiser.
GarondoMarondo...

Eh they can just cgi him a good body, Toby stopped working out for the
roll after the first film, most times you see Spider-man in costume in
the film its a stunt-double unless the mask is off.

Parker has to pass himself off as a regular, physically ordinary guy in
his daily life. So McGuire can shoot those scenes himself without any
special effects.
In contrast, Brock is going to *start* the movie as an athletically
built guy even before he becomes Venom. If the producers don't have to
David Johnston...

Is he? Why?

I was assuming Brock was going to be like Brock from the comics; a big
bully used to getting his way by pushing other people around,
specifically Peter. Brock needn't be have the exaggerated physique of a
super-villian to do that.
As far as Topher in the trailer, since the single shot I remember was
from overhead looking down at his face, I couldn't tell anything about
the character's build.

use CGI for Parker, why would they go to the expense of using CGI for
Brock? The simpler, less expensive solution is put Grace on a
body-building regimen to bulk him up before filming.

Depending on how they play the role, a scrawny Brock who gets pushed around by an
asshole/inconsiderate scrawny Parker may be good neough for him to want to get back at
him. I mean, in Brocks head, they are both the same, Brock may be even smarter or
'better', but punk ass Parker gets all the breaks?

Have you seen the trailer? He just looks like Topher Grace. With a bad
dye job.

Also, I wonder how this poor guy feels about Grace:
Probably as bad as this guy felt when X-3 came out:
Agent Smith...

That's rich, a Croatian Hank McCoy. I thought he was connected to
Colossus in some way.

Uh oh, Anim8Rfsk will be ticked off.

Those who didn't get the call back to reprise a certain role in later
sequels.

TB, relax. Anim's pulling your leg. He recognized right off Steve Bacic from
his favorite sf tv show.

But unlike Parker who has to pass himself off as a regular, physically
ordinary guy in his daily life, Brock is going to *start* the movie as
an athletically built guy even before he becomes Venom. I don't see the
producers going to the trouble or expense of using CGI for those scenes.

Garondo Marondo!

Ken from Chicago...

Exactly. It's like Tom Cruise being the big bully in TAPS.

I thought he was played by Thomas Haden Church?

Church is playing William Baker, the Sandman (my first Spider-Man comic
was his first appearance!)
Topher is playing Eddie Brock, aka Venom
Why would Topher need to bulk up to play somebody 6'3" and 260 pounds?
And from his appearance at Comic-Con, I'd say he hasn't.
Grace did bleach his hair though. That's the important thing.

I don't know if it's just me, but Grace has always impressed me as a
conceited turd. In this respect, he reminds me of Maguire. In fact,
they could be brothers. I like their acting, almost never find a
Maguire film boring. But during the course of any particular one, the
thought always flits through my mind that the guy is plain weird.
So Spider-Man 3 should be interesting on several levels.

Interesting points about Grace; he'd have made a better Harry Osborn.
