Wow, harsh. I'm greatly digging ABC's and NBC's mega-shift away from
traditional sitcoms. The show's only mildly funny but enjoyable in
other ways. The characters are interesting and the cast has good
chemistry. In short, it's the anti-"Class."

It is? That must be why I liked it. I hated "Class." What so
un-traditional about this, though? I thought it was pretty formula.

I thought it was untraditional in that it felt more like a feature film
take on comedy, in that the humor came more naturally from characters
and situations and not from cramming a joke in every 30 seconds. I

Hmm, interesting thought, I'll have to watch it again to see if I
notice it. But you're right that the humor didn't feel like they
crammed a joke in every 30 seconds. The setting seems quite
traditional though, like a Friends-type show, but without a permanent
venue. I wonder where they're going to meet up in subsequent
episodes.

think there needs to be a new category for these types of shows (with
"Entourage" being another show that would fit).
