Why do I get the feeling that the new TV show Jericho is nothing more than a
revamp of the old TV show Lost, but this time in is set in the Hartland of
Agent Smith...

I'm surprised that you have to ask, because this observation seemed very
clear to me. I think they're trying to take the best ingredients of
Lost and the tone of X-Files and make a new cake from the old
ingredients.
The tone was what made X-Files so cool. Nothing was ever resolved, but
there was just an underlying feeling of creepiness throughout. Paranoia
can be annoying sometimes, but it's better than the hyperkinetic
melodramas that seem to be arriving on network tv. I watch tv to relax,

If only science were performed by Spock-era Vulcans and not people, we
could take away the element of human emotion, and people wouldn't get
