"Coup D'Etat"
(2-17-06 SGA)

5 stars (Cassius Chaerea)

0-1 stars (Cassius Longinus)

erilar...
Not very creative 8-( 2.7, maybe

Bill Martin...
3 stars. I hope now the Genii settle down. The "bloodless coup" was
the thing that redeemed it for me. Without that, this would be yet
another sub-par episode for Atlantis.

I liked the twist at the end, but it doesn't make up for the tiredness
of the plot. How many times have Shepherd and his team been taken
hostage now? Whatever the actual count, it is way too many. These guys
are off in a completely different galaxy. Couldn't they, just once,
come across something that is curious and wonderful? They almost did
this when Rodney was trapped in the sinking jumper, but instead we got
Carter.

Fred Ellis...
I give it 5 stars, excellent episode, I enjoyed it very much.

Only one question, did they get the ZPM?

Fred Ellis

ANIM8Rfsk...
Doesn't matter. It was drained.

Fred Ellis...
I went back and re-watched the episode. In the scene where Ladon Radim
turns over the ZPM in that warehouse, he tells Sheppard that the ZPM has
probability been out of power for about thousand years.

Don't they have a way to check it to see if there is any power left?

Mark Nobles...
You didn't see McKay hold it up to his mouth so he could touch the two
leads to his tongue?

There should have been dialogue at the end of the episode to clarify
whether or not the ZPM was still good.

ANIM8Rfsk...
If they have it. They might well have left it with O'Brian and it got
vaporized.

Arthur Lipscomb...
I think Commander Cowen said it was in one of their archives. They had it
for a long time but when it was originally cataloged no one knew what it
was.

Andrew Venor...
They never said. However seeing that the ZPM was exhausted all it would
be good for is a paperweight on Rodney's desk.

Tim Bruening...
Until he figures out how to recharge it.

drifter...
Unless, of course, they ever figure out how to recharge them. Then
they'll wish they had kept every one they've ever run across.

ANIM8Rfsk...
Granted, it might be nice to have an empty to practice on.

Andrew Venor...
However we learned from the events of the episode Trinity that an
arrogant genius like Rodney McKay shouldn't allowed to play with that
much energy.

ANIM8Rfsk...
True, but if he IS gonna try to fill an empty, better it's a spare.

It was ok. Could have been better. The end was a little twist, which was
good.
