Mitchell on "Lost" patrol for Season 3

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Elizabeth Mitchell has joined the
cast of ABC's hit drama "Lost" as a possible new love interest for
Matthew Fox's character, sources said.

Earlier this week, Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro signed on to
co-star on the show, which begins its third season in the fall.

Casey McDonald's Guidance Counsellor, Ian J. Ball...
Boy, I'm really not liking what I'm hearing come out on "Lost's" season
#3. It's like they didn't learn any of the lessons they should have from
season #2.

Ian J. Ball...
They are stuck on an island, OK? There are limitied numbers of people
there. Yet, every season, it's suddenly a new cast of thousands
appearing.

David...
Well there is a whole group of "Others" we haven't met. It makes sense
that there are more of them than the 5 people we've seen so far. Then
there are 35 or so background characters they could promote to
regulars. And the "outside world" component they introduced in the
finale...

Did it occur to these guys that I watch this show for the *original
characters* they gave us in season #1, and don't care about all these
new people they keep brining on?!

For a "character-driven" show, "Lost" seems to be increasingly
"plot-driven".

And while that will no doubt pass your low TV viewing standards, Young
David, it doesn't pass mine.

David...
I had no idea that "ooooooo, a pretty girl, I must watch that!"
consitutes high tv-viewing standards.

Ian J. Ball...
The "pretty girl" only gets me in the door - it doesn't keep me
watching.

Afterall, even Joanne Garcia can't get me to watch "Reba".

Ian (Anyway, my TV viewing standards are very, very high. That's why
I'm the only person in the newsfroup who properly appreciated the
brilliance of "Paradise Hotel"....)

Ian ("Lost" could learn a whole heck of a lot from "Veronica Mars" -
those guys should be taking copious notes from VM...)

Next year may be it with me and this show...

GarondoMarondo...
Even if you did you would still post about how much you hate it every
chance you get, ex: Buffy, BSG, etc...

Mitchell next will be seen opposite Tim Allen in the feature "The
Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause," which opens November 3. Her other
credits include HBO's "Gia," in which she played Angelina Jolie's
lover, and a recurring role on "ER."
