Anyone Know This Christmas Show?

Eddie...
Three years ago my best friend was lent a tape by a co-worker. Before
he got to watch it, his VCR broke. I had a spare so I gave it to him -
that VCR ate the tape. Ever since, I've been willing to replace the
tape for him and the original owner of the tape if only I could find a
copy somewhere...

It was a Christmas themed show, apparently in pseudo-documentary style
about Santa's night ride. I believe it was TV production. It may have
been called There Really is a Santa. NORAD was featured, there were
scenes shot in a real Postal mail processing facility and the whole
thing was hosted by a real national, or local (New York City-Long
Island) TV news anchor.

I'd really appreciate a lead or two on this if anyone knows what it
was. Thanks.

Lobster Man...
I vaguely remember something like this, from the late 60s or early 70s
maybe? Don't have specifics; my first thought was Walter Cronkite, but
I'm not sure. (A search of imdb.com for Cronkite's appearances shows
nothing relating to Santa...)

I remember growing up in the mid to late 60s and listening to the radio
(we lived in a remote area in Northern Nevada and couldn't get TV); the
local station used to do something like this every Christmas Eve--"live"
reports from NORAD on the current location of Santa Claus.

There's now a website that does the same thing, or has for the last
couple of years. I tried to get a friend's little girls interested in
following Santa's journey a couple years ago, but they couldn't be
bothered.

Sorry I can't help more.
