"Hey, you got your snowboarding in my motocross."
"You got your motocross on my snowboarding."
"HEY! They're great together!"
Snowboard Cross is THE single best new winter Olympic sport in years. Sure,
those tobogganing runs down the mountain rollercoaster ice chutes are way
cool, but snowboard cross has it bit four ways from Sunday. It's one of the
few winter olympic sports where MULTIPLY athletes compete SIMULTANEOUSLY
instead of individual runs that compete based on time. Until they make those
bobsled / luge / skeleton chutes wider and had FOUR teams compete at once,
snowboard cross rules.
Plus, and this is the relevant point, snowboard cross is GREAT TV. As a
local radio host, (for those in Chicago, Eric Ferguson of the "Eric & Kathy
show") mentioned, instead of watching skiers or snowboarders do pert near
the same thing over again, snowboard crossers(?) have to compete not just
with time but directly against other opponents. Like last night, the fourth
snowboarder got cut off by the third one and got left in the dust--or the

it triggers Adobe Acrobat to read and is typically slower to read, etc. But
why don't YOU like it?

THIS is the sport NBC should be advertising left and right. Sure, you can

If you want to watch the entire event, I guess... I saw the quarter and
semifinals and finals on the NBC affiliate during the evening
programming starting at 8pm. That was good enough for me.

still advertise your ice dancing, but that's more entertainment. If you want
the thrill of watching athletic competition, snowboard cross is where it's
at!

This morning NBC Weekend Today teased it as "amazing" that despite the fall

Champ Bailey is the starting Corner Back fro the Denver Broncos. In
the playoff game against New England thisyear, he intercepted a pass
and ran it back and had a clear path for a TD. Nearing the endzone, he
cadillaced it, slowing it down and showboating. New England TightEnd
hustled and caught up to him and knocked the ball out just before CHamp
scored the TD.
Leon Lett, Dallas Defensive Tackle. In the Superbowl, he returned a
fumble and as he neared the endzone, he started celebrating. Don
Beebe came up from behind and knocked the balll loose.
These are the two most notable early celebration lost TDs in NFL.
(There was also a Ricky Henderson hotdog moment when he dropped a
flyball using his "snatch" catch)
