BlueLight Dude...

George...
There is also another way to look at it too for the people who object
because they believe in nothing. There is a celebration of nothing for
most of the rest of the year with no caroling or displays in the public
square.
I've made a some visits to local big box retailers, and K-Mart is the only
real McCoy when
it comes to Christmas. Forget the bull about what the others may claim...I

Steven L....
In fact, I just checked the K-Mart website:

And yes, their slogan for the holidays is "Where *Christmas* Comes
Together."

Good for them!

George...
Of course it is now a different company but just before the bankruptcy I
remember when they were one of the first companies to extend the
nonsense of opening on holidays by opening on Christmas Day.

give Target,
WalMart and all the other places I visited (all large retailers--Kohls
particularly funny
the way they've skirted around using the dreaded C-word..."western
ornaments"
and "first noel ornaments" for Christmas tree ornaments) an F. K-mart gets
an A.

K-Mart will get all our business year-round now. Whatever their
motivations, we will
stick with them in the future just for the Christmas. Not a bad store to
stick with
anyway....huge selection of all kinds of stuff, all at competitive prices.

bearclaw...
"It seems like the war on Christmas comes earlier every year!"

Seerialmom...
Working at K-Mart was the first job I had in the 70's, ladies wear.
Remember those pre-packaged blouses they'd have on the tables? I had
to straighten them up only to have some customer come in right behind
me and tear it up again. I lasted 2 weeks. In general the stores
haven't changed that much in 30+ years, same glaring fluorescent tubes
in the ceilings and apathetic cashiers. K-Mart is almost parallel with
Wal-Mart in my preferences for shopping...I avoid both unless
absolutely necessary. Personally I can't wait for them to raze those
stores and rebuild as Sears Express.

nospam...
The problem here is that Walmart is the only department store within 20 miles.

But I digress...your post was about Christ being in Christmas...and
holiday ornaments. Most are made in China...do you think they really
care about Christmas except for the orders they get for product?

Captain Assaf...
Christmas is a pagan holiday.

Rod Speed...
Trouble is that the real pagans dont get to do the most gung ho celebrating anymore.
