I guess I missed the memo about the original "Twilight Zone" being
back in syndication. The PBS station in San Jose (KTEH) has picked
it up, along with "One Step Beyond," and is running them on Friday
evenings. Nice to have them back on local TV.

SciFi recently renewed their rights to repeat Twilight Zone on Cable. There
may have been a change in the terms of the contract. When they first got the
show (1995?), it was an exclusive contract for that channel. A nonexclusive
contract would be less expensive, and the show is not as big an anchor
program on the channel as it was in the 1990s, so they could have paid less
rather than simply dropping it. It would also result in the ability for KTEH
and other over the air stations to bid for rights to the show if they wish.

Yes, that's exactly what I figured had happened: that SciFi had given
up its exclusive rights to the show in the U.S. I just hadn't recalled
seeing it mentioned here, so it caught me by surprise when I saw it
in KTEH's listings.

Ooooooh! I haven't seen One Step Beyond in....gee, maybe
since the original aired. I sure don't remember any of it
offhand. I'm looking forward to this--if it comes Eastward,
that is. ...tonyC
